A Pakistani military assault on the strongholds of a large Taliban - Pakistan

Pakistani army began on October 12 large-scale offensive with the support of aviation and artillery on a stronghold of Taliban militants in the Bajaur region along the Afghan border.
The operation comes after the Pakistani military said the liberation of all hostages held by a group of insurgents in a building in the General Command of the army in the garrison city of Rawalpindi, as a result of the armed special forces, killing at least 3 hostages and 2 of the security forces and 4 of the insurgents.
A group belonging to the Taliban Movement of Pakistan has launched on October 10 an armed attack on army headquarters in Rawalpindi and seized a large number of hostages who were inside the military headquarters.
